How do I covert my PowerPoint presentation to flash? To
convert your PowerPoint presentation to flash, follow these
steps:

Select 'Import' option via File menu; OR click on the quick icon for 'Import'
in the toolbar. The 'Import Files' window opens up.

It offers dual options - you can either import a single file by clicking on
'Select file' button; OR import multiple files saved in a folder by hitting the
button marked 'Select folder'.

You can now see the list of the presentation(s) that you have selected to
convert.

Check out the location where your converted files will be saved by default.
Click on the button marked 'Change', and browse to select a different location
where your converted files will be saved.

Click on 'Import Now' button.

The conversion process starts, and the progress bar displays the conversion
status.

Once your presentation is fully converted, you can view the status 'Complete'
in the column headed as 'Status'.

To convert more presentation(s), click on the button marked 'Import More'.

Will the audio in my PowerPoint presentation be converted? Yes, authorPOINT

totally dependent on the size of the original PowerPoint file,
and its makeup in terms of graphics, animations, sound, etc.
However, we have found that most presentations take just a few
minutes to convert.
What is the average file size reduction that can be expected with authorPOINTTM Lite? The actual file size reduction will vary
based on the presentation content. In some cases, we've seen
compressions up to 90% of the original file size.
Is there a limit to the size of the presentation that
authorPOINTTM Lite
can convert? No, there is no size limit of the
presentation that authorPOINTTM Lite can convert.

Customize
Output
How do I personalize my
presentations? You can
personalize your presentations by adding your personal
profile, your photograph and logo. You can

Select the presentation you intend to personalize. It opens up in the Slide
View window.

The right section of the 'Slide View' window displays the Presentation's
Details.
-
Hit the icon portraying a user (middle icon) to open the 'Presenter
Information' tab. It displays the default information/ profile added by you
through 'Options' window.
-
Enter a title that signifies your role or position in the presentation.
-
Enter your Name, Organization, and the Email address.
-
You can add your image and logo by clicking on the link marked 'Browse' made
available in both the 'Presenter's Image' and 'Presenter's Logo' field.
-
To remove data from a field, you can click on the link marked 'Clear'. To
remove data from all the fields, you can click on 'Clear All'.
I would like a different look and feel for the output. Do I have some
options available? Yes, plenty of
options are available for you to choose. You can select a
different layout and color of the output according to your
preference. Follow the steps given below:

Select menu item 'Options' via Tools menu. The 'Options' window opens up.
-
Click on the 'Template' Tab.
-
Select the color of your preference from the drop down menu in 'Select Color'
field.
-
Select the preferred layout from the 'Select Layout' field.
-
To mark the selected layout and color as default template for the subsequent
presentations, click on the button marked 'Set as Default'.
-
Click on the button marked 'Ok'.
You can select a different template for the output of a specific presentation after it has been converted.

Select the target presentation from the list of outputs available on the main
window. The presentation opens up in the Slide View window.

Go to the right section of the 'Slide View' window. There are three icons
available that let you edit different kind of details of your flash
presentations.

Hit the icon for 'Presentation Setting' (last icon). This opens 'Presenter
Settings' tab. The tab displays the default template that you selected through
Options window.

Select the template layout and color as per your preference.

Click on the quick icon for 'Save' in the toolbar.
How do I ensure that the flash output displays good quality images? To set the quality
level of the images in the output, do as follows:
-
Select menu item 'Options' via Tools menu. The options window opens up.

Click on the 'Settings' Tab.
-
You can see a slider in the 'Image Quality' field. This slider depicts the
image quality level, with higher quality towards right. Adjacent to it is a
selection box wherein you can select the preferred level of image quality. As
you make your choice, the Image quality slider gets adjusted accordingly.

Remember that if you use very high resolution images, the file size will be
great, and then the output might take a while to play in the player.
-
Click on 'Ok'. The Settings that you select will apply to all the
presentations.
How do I improve/change the quality of images in my presentation after
conversion to flash? To improve the image
quality for a specific presentation
-
Hit the icon for 'Presentation Setting' (last icon) in the right-side section
of the Slide View window. This opens 'Presenter Settings' tab.

The tab displays the default image quality settings that you selected through
'Options' window.

Set the Image Quality as per your preference.
-
Click on 'Save' in the toolbar.
How do I ensure that quality of audio in the output is as per my
preference? To set the
quality of audio for your converted presentation, do as
follows:
-
Select menu item 'Options' via Tools menu. The options window opens up.
-
Click on the 'Settings' Tab.
-
Go to 'Audio Quality' field. You have five quality parameters available in a
drop down menu ranging from Very High to Very Low.
-
Select the preferred level of audio from the drop down menu made available
there. The selection that you make here goes for all the converted
presentations.

Click on 'Ok'.
How do I improve/ change the quality of audio in my presentation after
conversion to flash? To change the audio
quality for a specific presentation
-
Hit the icon for 'Presentation Setting' (last icon) in the right-side section
of the Slide View window.

This opens 'Presenter Settings' tab. It displays the default audio quality
settings that you selected through the 'Options' window.

Select the parameter for audio quality as per your preference.
-
Click on 'Save' in the toolbar.
I don't need the narrations or rehearse timings included in the
original PowerPoint in the output. You
can select not to use narrations/rehearse timings included in
the original PowerPoint in the output by following the steps
given below:
-
Select menu item 'Options' via Tools menu. The options window opens up.
-
Click on the 'Settings' Tab.
-
Choose from two options available in Narrations/ Rehearse timings field. These
are
-
'Use if found', that is use Narrations/ Rehearse timings as they are in the
original PowerPoint' and
-
'Do no use at all', that is do not use Narrations/ Rehearse timings included in
the original PowerPoint
This ensures that authorPOINTTM Lite
keeps/discards (as per your choice) the rehearse timings/ narrations of all the
presentations that are converted into flash and show the same in the output.
4. Click on 'Ok'.
If you intend to make similar settings for a
specific presentation only, you can

Select the target presentation from the list of outputs available on the main
window. The presentation opens up in the Slide View window.

Go to the right section of the 'Slide View' window. There are three icons
available that let you edit different kind of details of your flash
presentations.

Hit the icon for 'Presentation Setting' (last icon). This opens 'Presenter

Select if you need the embedded narrations or rehearse timings of the
presentation.

Your selected settings will apply to that presentation only.
I have a PowerPoint presentation that contains speaker notes. Will the
authorPOINTTM Lite
allow people to view the notes after conversion? Yes. authorPOINT
TM Lite keeps the speaker notes of
your presentation and makes them available to viewers. To ensure that the speaker notes are
displayed in the output of all presentations, do as
follows:

Select menu item 'Options' via Tools menu. The options window opens up.
-
Click on the 'Settings' Tab.
-
Check the checkbox in 'Speaker Notes' field. It ensures that all the
presentations that are converted subsequently show speaker notes in the output.

Click on 'Ok'.
To show the
speaker notes in the output of a specific presentation,
-
Select the presentation so that it opens in the Slide view window.
-
Hit the icon for 'Presentation Setting' (last icon) in the right-side section
of the slide view window. This opens 'Presenter Settings' tab.

Check the checkbox in 'Speaker Notes' field.
-
It ensures that the speaker notes of the presentation are shown in the output
of the selected presentation.
Can I change the location where the flash output is saved by default? Yes. You can change
the default location where the converted presentation will be
saved. You can either set a different default location wherein
all the flash output will be saved or select a location for a
specific presentation. To change
location where all the converted presentation will be saved

Select menu item 'Options' via Tools menu. The options window opens up.
-
Click on the 'Settings' Tab.
-
The 'Default Location for Presentations' field displays the default location
wherein your presentations will be saved. To change the same, click on the
button marked 'Change'.
-
The 'Browse for Folder' window opens up. Select the preferred location and
click on 'Ok'.
-
The selected location will now be displayed in the 'Default Location for
Presentations' field.
-
Click on 'Ok'.
However if
you are looking to save a particular presentation at a
different location, you need to select the location at the
time of the import. That is, when you import a presentation
for conversion, you can click on button marked 'Change' on the
'Import Files' window and select the location where the
converted presentation will be saved.
I see a field named 'authorPOINT Updates'. This field allows
the application to check for latest updates from
authorPOINTTM Lite automatically, without you
having to check for the same. Just check the checkbox made
available in the 'authorPOINTTM Lite Updates' field. The
application will automatically check for latest updates from
authorPOINTTM Lite, and install the same.

Edit
Flash Output
How do I edit a
converted flash file? To edit the details of a presentation
after conversion, follow the steps below:
-
Select the presentation to be edited from thumbnails list. The selected
presentation opens up in the Slide View window.
-
The Slide view window displays the slide thumbnails at the bottom and the slide
view in the upper section. Left section of the Slide View window lets you edit
the title and notes of a slide by clicking on the links marked 'Edit Slide
Title' and 'Edit Notes' respectively.
- The right-side section of 'Slide
View' window displays the presentation's details. It has
three icons at the bottom.
-
Clicking on the first icon opens up the 'Presentation Details' tab. You can
add/edit the description and the keyword of the presentation.If you have
uploaded your presentation to authorSTREAM, you can spot the link marked 'View
Presentation on authorSTREAM'. Hit the link, and you can view the presentation
on authorSTREAM.
- When you click on middle icon,
the 'Presenter Information' tab opens up. The changes that
you make here will be specific to the selected
presentation.

Enter a title that signifies your role or position in the presentation.

Enter your Name, Organization, and the Email address.

narrations or rehearse timings of the presentation.
- Check the checkbox in the
'Speaker Notes' field if you need speaker notes of the
presentation in the output.

You can customize the output by select the template layout and the color.
- Click on the button marked 'Save'
in the toolbar to save the changes.

You can now make changes for multiple presentations; and then click on Save.

How do I view the
converted presentation? To view a presentation, do as follows:

Select the presentation to be played/ viewed from the thumbnails list.

You can either select 'View' option from the File menu; OR click on the button
marked 'View' (available in the toolbar).

The output/flash presentation starts playing in your default web browser.

Upload
and Share
Upload and Share is the complimentary feature in authorPOINT Lite, using which you can upload your
presentations online to our free presentations sharing platforms of authorSTREAM and WiZiQ. You can also share your
PowerPoint files directly using this option in aP Lite's PowerPoint plug-in. You need to register on
authorSTREAM or WiZiQ, the sharing platform on which you choose to upload and share. You can learn more about these
presentation sharing platforms below.
Share your PowerPoint files
How can I share my PowerPoint files using aP Lite's PowerPoint Plugin?
You can share your PowerPoint files with your friends directly using aP Lite's Plugin for PowerPoint.
You need not to convert it to flash output prior to share, using Import option in aP Lite.
The shared PowerPoint is converted to flash online on authorSTREAM or WiZiQ, whichever server,
you choose for sharing your PowerPoint. The online sharing server will take care of the conversion and the PowerPoint is converted online. The links generated
after the conversion are send to the list of friends with whom, you share your PowerPoint.
You have the option to share your PowerPoint as Private or
Public. By setting your sharing option as Private, your PowerPoint's flash output will be viewable to you and only to
your friends, with whom, you share your PowerPoint. In case, you set this to Public, your PowerPoint can be viewed
by anyone on authorSTREAM or WiZiQ, on which you share your PowerPoint.
Upload your aP Lite Presentations
How can I upload my aP Lite Presentations?
You can upload your converted Presentations in aP Lite, using 'Upload and Share' option. You have the option to bulk upload
by multiselecting the presentations in aP Lite and clicking on 'Upload and Share'. The selected presentations you choose for upload
are listed on the upload window. Here you have the option to edit the Presentation Details and set the upload options for upload by
clicking the 'Properties' label. You can set the category, title, tags, display, language etc. Display will let you upload your
presentation as 'Private' or 'Public'.
How does Upload and Share using aP Lite's Plug-in and aP Lite differs?
Using aP Lite's Plug-in for PowerPoint, You can share your PowerPoints directly without converting it to flash Output as in
aP Lite. The online sharing server will take care of the conversion and the PowerPoint is converted online. The links generated
after the conversion are send to the list of friends with whom, you share your PowerPoint.
You can Upload and Share your converted flash Presentations using the 'Upload and Share' option in aP Lite. The PowerPoint to flash

How do I upload my presentation online? To upload a presentation online,
follow the steps below:

Select the target presentation from thumbnails list. The selected presentation
opens up in the Slide View window. You can select multiple presentations to be
uploaded by pressing CTRL or SHIFT key while selecting.

Click on the button marked 'Upload and Share' in the toolbar; OR select
'Upload and Share' option from Tools menu.

The 'Upload and Share' window opens up.
- Authenticate your identity by
submitting your Email (you signed up with authorSTREAM or WiZiQ) and
password.

If you are a novel user you can sign up for membership with authorSTREAM or WiZiQ by
clicking on the link marked 'Sign Up for Account'.

If you have forgotten your password, click on the link marked 'Forgot Password'
to retrieve the same.

Once you logged in successfully, your login/password are saved automatically. This saves you from entering
your username and password again and again. It is safe if you use this feature
only on your personal computer
- The 'Upload and Share' window opens up and the selected presentations get
listed in the presentations panel on 'Upload and Share'. You can view their title, Category,display and
upload status. Click 'Properties' to ,to edit
their presentation details or upload options i.e. title, description, tags, Category, and
display. You can also set sub-category, language or set the option for the PowerPoint to be downloaded in case you
WiZiQ as Uploading server.
- You can edit the presentation's
title; enter presentation specific Description and Tags;
and select the category and display of the presentation
- You can now mark your
presentation as Private. The Display section lets you mark
your presentation as Private or Public. Labeling your
presentation as Private ensures that your presentation is
protected, and will not be open for public viewing. Only
the invited viewers can view your presentation.
- The details are saved
once you click OK on Edit Details window.
- When your presentation is uploaded,
a confirmation mail is sent on your email address (with
which you logged on in the 'Upload and Share' window)
confirming that your presentation has been uploaded.

After successful upload, the link named 'View on authorSTREAM' or 'View on WiZiQ' can be viewed in
the presentation control on the right for the selected presentation. You
can click to view the uploaded presentation on authorSTREAM or WiZiQ.
What is description? The description helps you best describe
your presentation. It should be both accurate and interesting.
Keep following things in mind:

Use clear and precise description in complete sentences.

Make sure it includes such content that helps people search it easily and
distinguish it from other presentation.

Categorize correctly as the category into which you place your presentation is
a part of its description too.
-
The description should be such that it identifies the presentation to the
category under which you have uploaded the presentation.
-
Be sure to include as much info as you can, but be careful not to include
something that shouldn't be displayed publicly, e.g. copyrighted material.
What are tags? Tags are the keywords
that are used to describe and search your presentation. For
example, a presentation on 'Tutoring Tips for Online Tutors'
might be tagged with "Tutoring Tips", "Online Tutoring Tips",
and "Online Tutors". Whosoever is looking for these tips can
search on any of these terms, and this presentation will be
displayed in search results. Tags help you label your uploaded
presentations so that other people can find them more
easily.
What is a category? Category is a classified group of
presentations that share a common attribute or subject like
entertainment or education. It is recommended that you categorize your
presentation correctly as the category into which you place
your presentation is a part of its description too
What is the relevance/benefit of marking a presentation
as 'Private'? Marking a presentation as private keeps
it invisible to all the visitors except for those with whom
you share these. These are not listed in search results and
are not visible in your public profile visible to all. By
default all presentations are marked as public when they are
uploaded from authorPOINTTM Lite. You can change the Display
Option to public before uploading your presentations online, set "Display" to Public on "Presentation
Details" control or on 'Edit details' window.
How do I register with authorSTREAM/WiZiQ?
If you are a new user you can
sign up for membership with authorSTREAM or WiZiQ by clicking on the link
marked 'Sign Up for Account' on in aP Lite. It takes you to the registration
page on authorSTREAM or WiZiQ. Registration is all free. All you
need to do is:

Enter your first name, last name and email address (a valid email address).
-
Enter your unique name to be used as User ID.
-
Enter your password and confirm in the next field.
-
A confirmation mail is sent to you (on the email account you entered while
registering) confirming the creation of your user account and a clickable link
to activate your user account. Clicking the link activates your user account
granting you an access to a great online presentation sharing platform.
How to retrieve my password?
If you have forgotten your password, click on the link marked 'Forgot
Password' to retrieve the same. You will be directed to 'Forgot Password' page
on authorSTREAM or WiZiQ. Enter the email address that you had signed up with. That will
authenticate your identity, and your password will be instantly sent to you on
your email address.
What is a sub category on WiZiQ?
Sub category is a classified group of categories that share a common
attribute or subject like 'mathematics'. For every category, there is a set of
sub categories defined. It is recommended that you categorize your categories
correctly as the Sub category into which you place your presentation is a part
of its description too
What is a language on WiZiQ?
You can select language for the presentation to be upload on WiZiQ
,thus your uploaded presentations can be distinguished on WiZiQ with respect to
language.
What is a Allow other to download PowerPoint file on WiZiQ?
This is the option for the user to allow others users to download
PowerPoint file on WiZiQ. This option is given to the user , if the user
uploads the presentation as public.
